“Every attribute of play, performance, direction was brilliant. A tour d'force on a heartwrenching human scale… How did director Gemma Whelan keep that pace snapping?”

“Delightful, nuanced performances tonight from Jacklyn Maddux and Allen Nause in Chapatti at Corrib Theatre. Watching these veteran actors perform in seemingly effortless unison is like witnessing the finest of neurosurgeons working in tandem with brilliance to give a patient new life… I urge you to see this masterwork beautifully directed by Gemma Whelan.”

ABOUT
Chapatti is a love story between two people who have given up on the possibility of love. Dan lives alone in a Dublin flat and spends his time with his dog, Chapatti. Betty also lives alone — with her nineteen cats. Chapatti is a tender, funny, compassionate, and unsentimental play about second chances that relies on the power of the spoken word, the challenge of communication, and the complexity of lived and shared experience.
